Creating Your Header. The process of creating your perfect header involves 7 steps. As we proceed through each of these steps it is important to note your selection on your customization form. As we go through this process I will provide some samples of the various types of customization. However, because there are literally tens of thousands of possible combinations to choose from it is not practical to show them all.
- Select the type of header your want.
- Select the size for your header.
- Select your header image.
- Select any special effects for your header image (special effects are in the next tab)
- Select an overlay image (this is often your logo)
- Choose your “Headline” (typically your office name)
- Choose your “Slogan”. (typically your office Slogan or your location)
Header Types:
There are two primary header types: Text Block and No Text Block. No Text Block means that the header image stretches across the full page width. A Text Block header has a percentage of the header image that is portioned off with a solid background color and this area is used for the Headline and Slogan. The Text Block can either be aligned to the left or to the right and can make up between 30-70% of the header.

In the sample headers below we have created a 30%, 40%, 50%, and 60% Left Text Block with a Black Background. Each Color Theme comes with a set of suggested Text Block Background Colors. So if you like the idea of having a Text Block what is most important to know is the size and alignment. We can then share with you the suggested Background Colors based on your Color Theme.

Header Size:
The height of your header can range from 100-300 pixels. The header size displayed in all of the images to this point have been 225px, which is the reason I highlighted this size in the image below. So that you can appreciate the actual size I have provided a full size sample of each header size below.

Header Image:
The options for your header image a virtually limitless. Here I will share with you a few of the possibilities. You can also choose from any of the header images our Bronze, Silver, and Gold series of skins by viewing our Gallery page or you can provide an image that you would like to use, e.g. a picture from your office or your city/town.
Option 1: Use the solid color background from your Color Theme or another color of your choice.

Option 2: Select an abstract apply a distortion to the color background giving it highlights and shadows. The first image below shows all of the available abstracts followed by the first three abstracts as a sample. If you would like to use an Abstract for your header simply indicate in your customization form the Abstract you would like to use indicated by the number on the image below. Be sure to add your selection to your customization form.

Option 3: Select an image from our Current Gallery, which is provided in the image below or your can browse our Previous Gallery Page and select and image from our Bronze, Silver or Gold Series.

Option 4: Provide an image or a picture that you would prefer to use, e.g. a picture of your office, your team, or your family.
Zoom and Reposition: You can change the zoom or the position for an of our header images or an image you have provide. The only limitation is the original image size. Here are a few samples using our header images:

Overlay Image:
Most often the overlay image for the custom header is the office logo, however, we have a few images which you can choose to overlay your header preferably if you can provide an image of you, your team, your office, or your family this would be ideal. The choice is yours. Below are samples of overlay images so that you can see how the overlay image works. Overlay images can be positioned anywhere on the header and can be resized and we can also add a glow around the image from small to large whatever meets your exact requirement.

Headline and Slogan:
Typically, the Headline for the website is your office name and the Slogan is either your office’s actual slogan or your location. If you are using a Logo image that already contains your offices name, then it is ideal to use your Headline to promote your location, e.g. Albuquerque Chiropractor. Both the Headline and Slogan are designed to appear as descriptors for your website in terms of the search engines. Search engines can’t read an image but the can read the text.
If you are not sure what to do with your Headline and Slogan – do worry – I will work with you to show you a few samples so that we can find one that you like.
The text of the Headline and Slogan is fully customizable. This means you can change the size, position, color, alignment. You name it you can change it. So lets work together to come up with your ideal solution. Below are a few examples of what you can do with your Headline and Slogan:

Special Effects:
Special Effects can be added to your header image or to your footer to give your site that something extra wow!
Apply a glare, a texture, a gradient, a blur or a combination of the afore mentioned to the color, abstract, or image of your choice. Note that if a Text Block is used in your header you can choose to have special affect for the entire header, only the text block, or only the color, abstract, or image. This truly gives you endless possibilities!
Glare: a glare is a special affect that it used to modify the solid color background. We have several series of Glares. The following images show all of the available Glares. To select a glare for your header indicate the series, row and column of your selection, e.g. Glare - Classic, 1, 1 would be a Glare from the Classic series, row 1, column 1.

Here are a few sample Glares:

Texture: a texture is similar to a glare but it more thoroughly covers the color background. We have several series of Textures. The following images show all of the available Textures. To select a Texture for your header indicate the Texture series, row and column of your selection, e.g. Texture – Pixel Pattern, 4, 3 would be a Texture from the series Pixel Pattern, row 4, column 3.

Here are a few sample Textures:

Gradient: a gradient is a way to allow the lighting of an image to gradually change in intensity. We have several series of Gradients. The following images show all of the available Gradients. To select a Gradient for your header indicate the Gradient series, row and column of your selection, e.g. Gradient – Horizontal, 2, 2 this would be a Gradient from the series Horizontal, row 2, column 2. It is important to note that Gradients are very subtle and typically are used to help direct a visitors eyes toward the most important content, e.g. your logo and phone number. It you would like to use a gradient with your header please indicate the Gradient you would like on your customization form.

Blur: A blur can be added to an image to make the image appear less clear. There are several levels of blur ranging from 0-5 with 0 representing no blur and 5 is the maximum blur. In the following images you can see how the different intensities of blur affect an otherwise clear image. Note how the blur affect only changes the focus of the image and does not affect the Texture – Small Circles.

Combination: A combination header simple uses more than one selection from the above items. You can choose one of each if you prefer. Below are a few samples that are using combinations of an Abstract, a Glare, a Texture, and a Gradient. Most importantly we want you to be able to create the exact header you are looking for.

Menu:
Now you will select your menu style. Please remember the following: The position of your menu will be determined by your layout selection – either above or below the header image and the color scheme of your menu will be determined by your Color Theme. In the images below the Color Theme is Egypt. However, you should be looking at the shape and relative size of the items in the menu. Most importantly – select two or three that you like the most and you will be able to see how they work with your other choices. Be sure to indicate on your customization form the menu styles you have selected.

Blocks:
Blocks are how certain types of content are displayed on your website. Most content does not require a block, however, certain types of forms on the site require one. Select the type of block which you would prefer to use with your website. Please remember the the color scheme for your choice will match your Color Theme. Be sure to note on your customization form the type of block you would like to use on your new website:

Buttons:
Buttons are used on your website with certain forms, e.g. where you click to submit a form. Please select the type of button you would like to use on your website. Please note that the buttons on your website will match your Color Theme. Remember to indicate on your customization form the type of button you would like to use.

Footer:
You’ve made it to the last step in the customization process: The Footer! In regards to the footer the primary choices are for the alignment of the text: Left, Right, or Center and the background color. The secondary customization is selecting special effects from the texture or gradient categories. View the special effects tab to review the choices for texture and gradient.
