With Windows Live Writer you can edit your websites newsletter from your desktop as easy as creating a word document. I was recently asked if you can attach a document to the newsletter in a similar way that you would attach a document to an email message. There is actually a very easy way to do this using WLW but it does require a third party plugin to be added to WLW. Simply follow the link below, download and run the program on the computer you are using with Windows Live Writer. This will add the functionality to your WLW to attach a file.

Attach File Plugin for Windows Live Writer

Now that you have installed the File Attachment Plugin you should see in the lower right hand corner of WLW an area call "Insert" and the last item in the list should be "File Attachment…". Simply click on File Attachment in the right side menu, use the pop up windows finder to find the file you want to attach, select the document to attach, type the link title (what you want the text in the link to say - in my example link below the title I typed in Caption is "How-to-attach-a-document-using-WLW.doc", which was also the name of the file) into the Caption, select OK. For the purpose of demonstration I have attached a document to this message as I am using Windows Live Writer to create this article in the same way you would use it to edit your newsletter or for that matter any area of your website.
